Doujin Market 2017

This year I had my first experience of managing a booth with a group of friends at Suntec Convention Centre. We displayed our works and products for sale, which included original works and fanart. We also made friends with other fellow hobbyists at the event who shared the same passion for anime and illustrating. It was a wonderful experience to be able to not only sell what you love doing, but knowing that there are many like-minded people similar to you.

JENESYS 2016

On December 2016, the National Book Council organised a JENESYS 2016 program for the 50 years of Singapore Japan alliance, to let Singaporean students have a chance to experience the Japanese culture.

I participated in the program along with 3 Temasek Polytechnic students, and visited Hakuba, and Tokyo. During the trip we visited Hakuba High School, Chihiro Museum, the Library of Children's Book, and Matsumoto Castle etc. We learnt about their culture, their brief history, and even had homestay to experience the culture ourselves.
I learnt how efficient the society in Japan was, and their respectable behaviours and manners which made me think, how could Singapore change to become a better society. We created children's storybooks through what we experienced in Japan for Asian Festival of Children's Content 2017.

Maritime Youth Festival

On 17 July 2016, I worked as a volunteer in tending the booth for t-shirt and bag silkscreen printing for Temasek Polytechnic, in partnership with Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The aim was to cultivate interest in the maritime industry for the younger generation. The festival had booths and stalls tended by different schools, including ours, and a fashion show as well.
Students from our school designed illustrations that depicted maritime and we had a live silkscreen printing for customers to see how it was made. The amount earned from sales were directed to the Design Project Fund for our school’s needy students.
